Fireflight Fireflight are a Young Enterprise company established in September 2007. Fireflight's Mission Statement is: "To provide the ingredients for Kitchen Karma".
The Product The Cooking Companion is an individual and practical product replacing the standard recipe book. The Cooking Companion contains desserts designed on separate cards tucked away in a CD case. Each dessert featured in the Cooking Companion features advertising from one of 9 of the top regional businesses. The product is designed for those customers who like to cook but also have a sweet tooth for dessert. Each recipe that is featured in the Cooking Companion is individual and unique. This is because every dessert featured has been designed and created by a Year 10 students from Malet Lambert School. Learning New Skills Throughout the year Fireflight have developed confidence, communication skills and engaged with the business community. Success at the Humber sub regional finals saw Fireflight winning 10 awards:
Over the course of the Young Enterprise experience, Fireflight have faced up to challenges, grown as individuals, worked as a team and created a successful business that operates, not just within the school environment, but out in the real world of business. In the last 2 weeks, Fireflight were commissioned by the Hull City Council to create a healthy eating card, fireflight successfully completed this in a week and unveiled 'The Lunchbox Buddy' to 250 school children and the duchess of York. Fireflight have certainly set the wheels rolling for a healthier future.
