Aim Higher

Aimhigher is a national programme which aims to widen participation in higher level learning by raising the awareness, aspirations and attainment of young people from under-represented groups. A number of students in Years 9 - 11 take part in the aim higher programme. Below are some of the activities they have taken part in this year.

On Monday 30th March 2009 15 students took part in the Aim Higher Intervention day at the University of Hull. Students had the opportunity to take part in revision activities by Impact drama. They also heard a speech from the blind adventurer Miles Hilton Barber. Miles has been blind for since his early twenties, but has not let that stop him from challenging barriers. He has sought adventure and succeeded on expeditions to deserts, mountains and the polar regions.
